Playing With Two Forwards

"Playing With Two Forwards"

In modern years many coaches prefer to use formations with two forwards. This decision can be permanent due to the fact that there are at least two quality forwards within the team or a temporary one because the next opponent has weaknesses in the centre of defence. So choosing to play with two forwards will put extra pressure on the opposing team. The most commonly used formations with two forwards are the 4-4-2, the 4-4-2 with diamond in midfield as well as the 3-5-2 and the 3-4-1-2. The present project will provide to coaches all the necessary information in order to take advantage the two forwards regardless the formation is used. There will be explained in details all the possible combinations between the two forwards and 21 drills will be provided in order to train these combinations in practice.

It is very important to train the forwards to read the game as well as the defenders’ positioning in order to make the right decision about which is the appropriate combination that should be carried out.
